The sensory friendly event of the century debuts at Six Flags America May 7th, 2020. Now the Maryland/DC area can experience the ground-breaking event that is now celebrating its third year running. With adjusted lights and music, shortened lines and wait times, decompression areas throughout the park, Gersh Academy trained staff, and local autism-related resources, Autism Day at Six Flags America is a “can’t miss” event for individuals on the autism spectrum and their friends and family.

Designated decompression areas, stocked with sensory friendly items and toys, will be set up throughout the park.
Adjusted Lights/Music
Custom Ed worked in collaboration with the park to turn down the lights and the music making it friendlier for our event attendees.

Meet your national & local autism community! Learn what support, resources and services are available to you and your family.
Lower attendance
The event has been tailored to ensure minimal wait times for rides and less crowding.
Trained Staff Throughout the Park
In addition to Six Flags employees, highly-trained Gersh Academy staff will be available at various locations throughout the park to assist families with their needs.

2018 and 2019 Autism Day at Six Flags Great Adventure
In 2018, we made history with the first ever Autism Day at Six Flags Great Adventure. Over 5,000 people were given a day of worry-free sensory-friendly fun in one of the greatest theme parks in the country. Due to the overwhelming success and the feedback we heard from families, we’re back for the third year at TWO parks to bring another fun-filled day for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.
